Wellster launches international expansion and brings obesity platform to Sweden
The Wellster Healthtech Group is pushing ahead with its internationalization and expanding outside Germany for the first time. The Munich-based company is launching the GoLighter platform in Sweden, focusing on digital, medically supervised obesity therapies. At the same time, Wellster has expanded its existing financing line with Claret Capital Partners to a total of 10 million euros.
Sweden as a strategic test market
The market entry in Sweden marks the start of the planned European expansion. The country serves as a proof-of-concept market to validate the business model under new regulatory and market conditions.
With a population of around ten million and a significant proportion of 2.5 to 3 million people with an elevated body mass index, Sweden offers relevant market potential. At the same time, the market for digital GLP-1-based therapy offerings is still underdeveloped.
GoLighter focuses on medically supervised therapy
At the heart of the expansion is the GoLighter platform, which specializes in GLP-1-based weight loss therapies. The offering includes a structured diagnostic process, clear dosage guidelines, nutritional advice and continuous medical monitoring.
Wellster is thus deliberately positioning itself in the premium segment and is focusing on a long-term, sustainable therapeutic approach that combines telemedical care with scientific support.
Strong growth and profitability as a basis
The expansion is based on an economically stable position. In the 2025 financial year, Wellster generated revenue of 50 million euros and achieved full profitability for the first time. This was driven in particular by the strong growth of the GoLighter platform in the German market.
This development creates the basis for entering other European markets, particularly the Nordic region.
Focus on European scaling
Wellster's long-term goal is to build a leading digital healthcare platform in Europe. Sweden will serve as a blueprint for expansion into other countries.
The company, founded in Munich in 2018, already operates several digital health services in areas such as men's and women's health, hair loss and medical self-tests and claims to have over two million users.
