Wingcopter to deliver 12,000 drones to Africa

Together with Continental Drones, the start-up wants to improve supply chains in Africa, especially in regions where the infrastructure is not sufficiently developed.
Wingcopter and Continental Drones, a subsidiary of Atlantic Trust Holding based in Ghana and Dubai, want to work together to improve supply networks in Africa and have agreed a partnership to this end. Over the next five years, they plan to bring 12,000 Wingcopter 198s to the continent. Continental Drones will now become an authorized partner of the German company for all 49 countries south of the Sahara.
According to the two companies, drones are a faster, cheaper and more sustainable solution for transportation infrastructure. They are also less harmful to health and climate than conventional ground-based infrastructure. Wingcopters can also be used to reach remote locations. This makes it easier to transport vital goods and reach people more quickly
For Wingcopter co-founder and CEO Tom Plümmer, the agreement is a game changer that would put Wingcopter and Continental Drones at the forefront of the drone delivery industry. In addition to manufacturing eVTOL flight systems, Wingcopter focuses on optimizing medical supply chains as well as delivering fresh food, tools and spare parts, for example.
