yasp receives USD 5 million seed

The German-Canadian start-up yasp has closed a seed financing round of 5 million US dollars. The round was led by Capnamic, with Start-up BW Innovation Fonds & MBG BW and several business angels also participating. The capital will be used for the further development and market launch of the Agentic AI Compiler, which is planned for the end of 2025.
Growing demand for efficient AI development
Around USD 1.8 trillion is expected to be invested in artificial intelligence worldwide by 2030. This will also increase the demand for scaling and cost control. According to industry analyses, over 60 percent of AI budgets already go towards software and infrastructure. In addition, vendor-specific systems make it difficult to switch between hardware platforms. yasp aims to enable companies to develop AI faster, more flexibly and more cost-effectively with its solution.
Agentic AI Compiler
The Agentic AI Compiler from yasp accelerates both the training and inference of AI models. A key difference to conventional runtime compilation lies in the hardware-specific code generation: with a single API call, the system creates optimized executables that are precisely tailored to the target hardware. This reduces the computing effort without developers having to rewrite their models.
We are developing a product that solves a crucial problem in AI development: the immense amount of time required for training and deployment.
Stefan Krassin, co-founder and CEO of yasp
Initial tests show significant improvements
According to yasp, initial tests with the Agentic AI Compiler have already demonstrated significant performance improvements in training and inference workloads without any loss of accuracy. CTO Reza Rahimi emphasizes:"Our approach recreates training and inference layers and optimizes them directly for the target hardware - with just one API call."
Investors focus on scaling potential
The investors see the technology as an important step for the future of AI development."The Agentic AI Compiler enables developers to achieve unprecedented speed and efficiency while remaining independent of individual manufacturers," says Christian Siegele, Managing Partner at Capnamic.
The representatives of the Start-up BW Innovation Fund & MBG BW also emphasize the potential:"yasp makes progressive hardware optimization simple and accessible and removes decisive hurdles in the use and further development of AI."
Market launch and expansion
yasp intends to use the fresh funds to intensify its product development, expand support for additional hardware platforms and optimize integration into common AI development tools. The market launch is planned for the end of 2025.
At the same time, the company is growing internationally. In addition to its location in Munich, yasp has also opened a branch in Montreal, Canada. Founded in Germany and Canada, the deep-tech start-up is on a mission to close the gap between hardware and AI.
