Zepo Intelligence receives 15 million US dollars in seed funding
Cybersecurity startup Zepo Intelligence has closed a seed financing round of 15 million US dollars. The round is led by venture capital investor eCAPITAL, with Kibo Ventures and TIN Capital also participating. Zepo is developing a security platform that protects companies from AI-supported social engineering attacks and directly supports employees in their day-to-day digital work.
Social engineering is becoming a key cyber threat thanks to AI
Cyber attacks are increasingly shifting away from traditional phishing emails towards coordinated, cross-channel attacks in collaboration tools, identity workflows and chat systems. Generative AI not only makes these attacks more scalable, but also significantly more credible. This happens, for example, through deepfake voices, personalized messages or combined attacks across multiple channels.
According to the World Economic Forum (WEF), the number of social engineering attacks has risen by 1,200 percent. In 2024 alone, this caused damage of over 1 trillion US dollars worldwide. For CISOs, this means that traditional email filters and awareness training often take effect too late, as decisions are now made directly in the workflow under time pressure.
Agentic Social Intelligence
With its platform, Zepo relies on an approach that the company calls "agentic social intelligence". The aim is to detect indications of social engineering in ongoing workflows and protect employees in real time, exactly where the attack is taking place.
The solution is technically integrated into existing communication and identity systems. If Zepo detects suspicious patterns, the platform can warn users immediately, trigger escalations or initiate additional verifications. This means that even complex attack scenarios can be detected, for example when deepfake calls, chat messages and fake login pages are combined.
International customers and strong market validation
Zepo is already being used by several major international companies. Google presented the start-up in 2024 as one of the most innovative AI-driven cybersecurity companies. Zepo was also selected for the Cybersecurity Startup Accelerator 2026 by CrowdStrike, Amazon and NVIDIA.
Generative AI significantly lowers the barriers to social engineering. Organizations need protection mechanisms that support employees in real time - not just training that takes effect months later.

Capital for further AI development and international expansion
Zepo plans to use the seed funding to expand its data engineering and artificial intelligence teams in particular. At the same time, the go-to-market in Europe and the USA is to be accelerated. The aim is to further scale the five-fold revenue growth of the past twelve months over the next 18 months.
Enrique Holgado, CPTO and Co-Founder, emphasizes:"AI is the core of our platform. We are specifically building at the intersection of AI and cyber security." Investor eCAPITAL also sees great potential."Zepo Intelligence impresses with its data- and intelligence-driven approach and a clear understanding of modern threats," says Dirk Seewald, Managing Partner at eCAPITAL.
The approach is promising, but ultimately the solution will have to prove itself on the market in real use. The other side will also continue to exploit all technical possibilities in order to gain the greatest possible advantage.
