Polish start-up ZeroQs focuses on intelligent shopping carts as an alternative to self-service checkouts: Fresh funds to further expand market presence in Europe.

Warsaw - The Polish startup ZeroQs has successfully completed a financing round and received PLN 2 million from Freya Capital as a follow-on investment. The funds will be used to further develop the company's smart shopping carts and drive its expansion. ZeroQs' solution aims to reduce queues and improve the shopping experience for consumers. Currently, the technology is already being used by companies such as Społem and Centrum Retail.

Smart shopping carts

ZeroQs has developed and launched smart shopping carts that allow customers to avoid queues. These are designed to help retail chains manage stock and security more efficiently. Equipped with a weighing system, barcode scanner and touchscreen, the shopping carts simplify the shopping process. Customers can place items in the trolley, record them with the integrated scanner and leave the store as the amount due is automatically deducted from their account. Advanced weighing and visualization systems are designed to effectively check products and protect retail networks from theft, fraud or customer errors.

Already in use in Społem and Detal Centrum stores, ZeroQs is in active discussions with leading retailers in Poland and Europe to further expand its presence in the market. CEO Jarosław Kaczmarczyk emphasizes that the fresh funds will help drive the technology forward, strengthen the company's domestic market presence and prepare for expansion into neighboring markets.

Consumer behavior data

Michal Lewandowski, Managing Partner at Freya Capital, highlights the increasing demand from retail chains for consumer behavior data and sees potential for ZeroQs' smart shopping carts to become an important provider of this information. Access to such data enables retail chains to increase their sales figures and customer satisfaction.

The use of consumer behavior data opens up additional opportunities for retail networks, including the personalization of the shopping process. Personalized recommendations on the shopping cart screen are designed to help customers find products faster. ZeroQs emphasizes that the information collected, once anonymized, is a valuable resource for retail chains to understand the shopping preferences of different consumer groups.
