amber was born in 2020 from a simple observation: Companies possess a vast amount of knowledge—in SharePoint, Confluence, on network drives, in tickets, and in project folders. But no one can find it in time. That’s exactly where we started, developing an AI search engine that makes all relevant data sources searchable: semantically, in multiple languages, and while consistently respecting existing access rights. In 2021, we launched as a B2B startup.

From Search to Platform

The search tool evolved into a comprehensive business AI platform. In 2023, we won the DB mindbox pitch competition for automating customer dialogs with generative AI. In the years that followed, we added an AI assistant that provides answers from internal sources with source references and rights verification, as well as AI agents for automating recurring tasks and workflows. Today, amber has over 400 successful implementations to its credit—primarily in industrial SMEs, mechanical engineering, and technology-driven industries.
