About the Product

Oxyle develops modular PFAS destruction systems fine-tuned to each site's water chemistry, flow rates, and discharge requirements. Destruction forms the core, while additional steps for matrix optimization, concentration and separation, and monitoring stages are added as needed to optimize overall performance, efficiency, and integration with existing infrastructure.

About the Team

Dr. Fajer Mushtaq's path to co-founding Oxyle was significantly shaped by her early life experiences with water scarcity and contamination. Born in the water-rich region of Kashmir and later relocating to water-scarce Delhi, she developed a profound awareness of the vital need for access to clean water. These formative experiences drove her to pursue a PhD at ETH Zurich, where she dedicated her studies to developing technologies aimed at improving water quality. It was during this time that she met Dr. Silvan Staufert, and together they founded Oxyle, united by a shared mission to tackle the complex global issue of water contamination. Four years later, Oxyle is a team over 35 highly motivated engineers, scientists and entrepreneurs - all committed to protecting our waters from forever chemicals, forever.

Oxyle’s tech uses water movement to remove pollutants UNESCO calls water pollution one of the main challenges facing societies, with 2 million tonnes of sewage entering the world’s water each day. Oxyle wants to help solve the crisis with a new wastewater treatment that removes micropollutants. The Zurich-based startup announced today $3 million in pre-seed funding that it will use to bring its tech to market.
