The Berlin-based e-commerce investor receives money from Carsten Maschmeyer's fund, among others - all three months after it was founded.

The Berlin start-up Stryze has received 100 million US dollars in fresh capital. The financing round is led by Carsten Maschmeyer's VC fund Alstin Capital and Upper90. Other investors are also on board, but have not yet been named.

The Stryze Group has only existed since December 2020 and was founded by Sebastian Funke, Sascha Krause, Taro Niggemann and Mark Hartmann. The company takes over existing e-commerce brands or develops its own, then scales them up and tries to distribute them via existing platforms.

So far, the company says it has 20 brands in its portfolio, selling around 100 products in 20 countries. The products include yoga mats, coffee capsules and professional hair cutting scissors.

Noel Zeh, Partner at Alstin Capital responsible for the investment, says about Stryze: "The business model requires a wealth of experience in the e-commerce value chain and also a strong demand for perfection in order to be able to successfully grow faster inorganically through acquisitions. Taro, Sascha, Mark and Sebastian bring all of this to the table."
