The Berlin-based e-commerce investor gets money from Carsten Maschmeyer's fund, among others - and all this three months after its founding.

Berlin-based start-up Stryze is getting $100 million in fresh capital. The funding round is led by Carsten Maschmeyer's VC fund Alstin Capital and Upper90. Other investors are also on board, but were not initially named.

Stryze Group has only existed since December 2020, founded by Sebastian Funke, Sascha Krause, Taro Niggemann and Mark Hartmann. The company acquires existing e-commerce brands or develops its own, then scales them up and tries to distribute them through existing platforms.

So far, the company says it has 20 brands in its portfolio, selling about 100 products in 20 countries. Its products include yoga mats, coffee capsules and professional haircutting scissors.

Noel Zeh, partner at Alstin Capital responsible for the investment, says of Stryze: "The business model requires a wealth of experience in the e-commerce value chain and also a strong demand for perfection in order to be able to successfully grow faster inorganically through acquisitions. Taro, Sascha, Mark and Sebastian bring all of this to the table."
