Express Tax collected 4.3 million euros this year

Just a year ago, a major investor backed out of the tax start-up. The company has apparently been able to recover from this.
The Hamburg-based start-up Expresssteuer has received investments totaling 4.3 million euros this year, according to the online platform Finance Forward reports. The money came from the founder of re-commerce company Momox Christian Wegner, Lieferando co-founder Kai Hansen and Tim Stracke from watch marketplace Chrono24, among others. A total of around 20 investors have joined the company over the course of the year.
Just a year ago, the situation for the start-up was anything but good: A major investor had bailed out. The identity of the investor was not disclosed. However, Expresssteuer was apparently able to recover from the resulting situation. Things now seem to be looking so good for Expresssteuer that the start-up is even aiming for Series A financing, according to Finance Forward.
Expresssteuer offers a service that allows customers to prepare their tax return online in just a few minutes. The start-up can then put them in touch with a tax advisor. The latter can then be commissioned to submit the tax return to the tax office. On average, customers of the start-up should receive a refund of 1069 euros.
