Green Product Award goes to Less Waste Club

The cosmetics start-up beat 1,500 other applicants to win the award for its body care powder.
The Munich-based start-up Less Waste Club has won the Green Product Award 2022 in the "Consumer Goods & Personal Care" category. According to Nils Bader, Director of the Green Future Club, it was the mix of sustainability, design and innovation that spoke in favor of a good lifestyle that can be reconciled with a more sustainable future. The products from Less Waste Club are powdered care products were able to beat 1500 submissions from 52 countries to win over the jury. In addition to the "Consumer Goods & Personal Care" category, there are eleven other categories, which were awarded on May 18 during the official award ceremony in Munich.
The care products from Less Waste Club are designed to reduce packaging waste and also save CO2 during shipping thanks to their low weight, as the product weighs 87 percent less than conventional liquid soap.
This is achieved by reducing the water content of the "Waterless" products to almost zero. The water is only added to the powder during use, resulting in the cleaning product.
The Less Waste Club was founded in April 2020 by Maximilian Glas and Rosalie Schmid. The aim was to sustainably improve everyday products and define the general understanding of raw materials and waste. Under the principle of the "circular economy", where raw materials are reused instead of thrown away.
