The cosmetics start-up beat out 1,500 other applicants to win the award for its body care powders.

Munich-based start-up Less Waste Club has won the Green Product Award 2022 in the "Consumer Goods & Personal Care" category. According to Nils Bader, director of the Green Future Club, the mix of sustainability, design and innovation spoke especially in favor of a good lifestyle, which could be aligned with a more sustainable future. Less Waste Club's products are care products in powder form were able to prevail against 1500 submissions from 52 countries and convince the jury. In addition to the "Consumer Goods & Personal Care" category, there are eleven other categories that were awarded on May 18 during the official award ceremony in Munich.

Less Waste Club's personal care products are said to save packaging waste and, due to their light weight, also CO2 during shipping, as the product weighs 87 percent less than conventional liquid soap.

This is achieved by reducing the water content of the "Waterless" products to almost zero. Only when the product is used is the water added to the powder and the cleaning product obtained.

The Less Waste Club was founded in April 2020 by Maximilian Glas and Rosalie Schmid. The goal was to improve products of daily use in a sustainable way and to define the general understanding of raw materials and waste. Under the principle of "Circular Economy", where you reuse raw materials instead of throwing them away.
