Freeletics co-founders Joshua Cornelius and Mehmet Yilmaz founded a new HR development startup last year. Now they have been able to secure investor funding.

Zavvy has announced seed funding of €3.4 million to launch its people management platform. La Famiglia VC led the funding round. Emerge Education, Picus Capital and several angel investors also funded into the new startup. Among them are Eventbrite co-founder Renaud Visage, Personio co-founder and CEO Hanno Renner, and Forto co-founder and CEO Michael Wax.

With the capital, Zavvy plans to further develop its enterprise HR management platform and expand its customer base. The platform is designed to help introduce new employees to companies, connect employees with each other and help them develop. Using existing workforce data, Zavvy creates employee programs that are integrated into enterprise customers' workflows. In the first half of the year, the startup also plans to expand its offerings to include training and survey solutions.

Joshua Cornelius and Mehmet Yilmaz founded Zavvy in Munich in 2021. Both co-founded the fitness and health app Freeletics. "At Freeletics, we learned that people naturally strive for growth and how challenging it is to support that. The same is true for professional development," say Joshua Cornelius and Mehmet Yilmaz. That requires solutions that are simple, social, and integrated into everyday work, which is what they now want to provide with Zavvy.
