5 million euros growth financing for BRAIN Biotech AG

Investing in the future: BRAIN Biotech AG plans to expand research and development activities thanks to new capital injection from bmh.

Wiesbaden / Zwingenberg, May 7, 2024 - BRAIN Biotech AG, a biobased products and solutions company, has received another capital injection from Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen mbH ("bmh"). The investment amounts to 5 million euros and is part of a long-term partnership between the two companies.

Investment in research and development

BRAIN Biotech AG is a pioneer in industrial biotechnology. The company focuses on the development of enzymes, proteins and biotechnological solutions for a more sustainable industry. The investment by bmh will be used to strengthen BRAIN's research and development activities and to invest in laboratory and production facilities.

We intend to use the funds from the current financing round to make further future-oriented investments at our Hessian headquarters and thus further expand our leading position in the market.

Since its foundation, BRAIN has developed from a service provider for research and development into a leading supplier of bio-based products for the B2B market. With 330 employees, 120 of whom are based in Zwingenberg, the company operates in the BioIndustrial, BioScience and BioIncubator divisions.

Diverse areas of application

BRAIN's products are used in various areas such as nutrition, health and the environment. The spectrum ranges from alternative protein sources to pharmaceutically active ingredients for the treatment of chronic diseases.
