Ada Health gets $90 million

The digital health start-up aims to become the market leader in health analysis. The main investor is Leaps by Bayer from Leverkusen.

The Berlin-based eHealth start-up Ada Health has received Series B financing in the amount of 90 million US dollars. The lead investor is Leaps by Bayer, the investment arm of the agricultural and pharmaceutical group Bayer. Other investors include the Berlin-based Samsung Catalyst Fund, the British private equity firm Vitruvian Partners, the Polish Inteligo Bank, F4 and the Swiss Mutschler Ventures.

"Ada's transformative technologies combine powerful artificial intelligence with the highest level of medical care and clinical accuracy," says Jürgen Eckhardt, Head of Leaps by Bayer. "Because Ada's solutions are involved early in the search for the right healthcare, the technology acts as a guide and can help get more patients and consumers to their destination faster." Ada Health operates an AI-based platform for health analysis. The aim is to better detect diseases. The Ada app helps patients to correctly classify symptoms. Since its launch, 23 million health analyses have been created via the app.

"Today's funding supports us in our goal of improving the health of over one billion people worldwide," says Daniel Nathrath, CEO and co-founder of Ada Health. The aim of the funding is to make the start-up the world's leading provider of personalized digital health. Investors are focusing in particular on the USA. In addition, Bayer and Ada Health are currently in talks about a possible longer-term strategic partnership.
