Alcemy receives ten million euros

The money comes, among others, from the Climatetech Fund and major players from the construction and real estate industries.
Berlin-based start-up Alcemy has raised ten million euros in its Series A financing round. Investment platform Galvanize Climate Solutions leads the round. Other investors include CIimatetech Fund and Aenu, the impact fund of brothers Ferry and Fabian Heilemann, which focuses on climatetech and social impact companies. Construction and real estate-specific investors also participated, including Bitstone Capital, Momeni Ventures and E.R. Capital Holding. In addition, there are business angels as well as existing investors.
Leopold Spenner and Robert Meyer founded Alcemy in 2018 with the goal of making the concrete and cement industry more sustainable and digital. "But to achieve this goal, we need close and continuous quality monitoring of these more sensitive concretes and cements, which we as a company deliver with our software," says CEO Spenner.
To this end, they have developed a program that uses machine learning and control technology to predict the quality properties of cement and concrete. In doing so, they cover the value chain from cement grinding to concrete processing at the construction site. According to the start-up, this enables companies to increase the quality of their concrete, reduce production costs and save CO2.
