Allcup raises 450,000 euros in pre-seed round

Allcup wants to use the capital from the financing round to produce an edible coffee cup from a waffle and launch it on the market. The investors include experts from the food industry.

According to Allcup, it has raised 450,000 euros to further develop its plastic-free packaging solutions. JJB Vermögensverwaltung, a family office with a focus on strategic consulting, was one of the investors in the pre-seed financing round. Christoph Harff, Professor of International and Behavioral Economics, Food Angels Germany co-founder Günther Rodemeyer, Rawbite Managing Director Matthias Harlfinger and True Fruits founder Nicolas Lecloux also invested.

Business psychologists Lara Wagemann and Sarah Theresa Schulte founded Allcup together with nutritionist Martin Nauen. The start-up has developed a coating that is just as heat- and water-resistant as plastic, but edible. According to the company, it is particularly suitable for disposable products with a usage time of up to 48 hours and rougher surfaces. "Like plastic, but awesome!" comments investor Nicolas Lecloux. "Allcup will disrupt the entire packaging industry."

Allcup plans to use the capital from the financing round to manufacture its first product, an edible coffee cup made from a wafer, and launch it on the market. According to the company, it has already found a partner for machine production. Other products such as salad bowls, straws, spoons and bowls are to be added later.
