The Berlin start-up has developed a meditation and sleep app for children. The aim is to help them grow up less stressed.

Since the pandemic, almost one in three children has become mentally vulnerable. This has been exacerbated by the outbreak of the war in Ukraine. The Berlin start-up Aumio was able to convince investors such as VC Partech to invest three million euros in its mediation and sleep app. The app is designed to help children grow up healthy, self-confident and less stressed through playful exercises and stories. According to the company, Aumio is already being used by over 200,000 families in the DACH region.

The company was founded in March 2020 by Jean Ochel, Tilman Wiewinner, Felix Noller and Simon Senkl. They developed the app together with experts at the Free University of Berlin.

Co-founder Tilman Wiewinner emphasizes that the start-up has big plans for the future: "We want to become the Disney of mental health." According to forecasts, the market volume of the global digital health market will increase to 640 billion US dollars by 2026. Investors have also recognized this. Lead investor Finn Weise from Partech emphasized that mental health is now being taken just as seriously as physical health.
