Bettina Engert goes to Startup Teens

Engert will become co-executive director of the nonprofit. She previously worked at Acton Capital.
Bettina Engert will be the new co-managing director of Startup Teens. She shares the leadership with Hauke Schwiezer. Engert previously worked at Munich-based venture capital Acton Capital. Prior to that, she was involved in building Flixbus. Her brother Jochen Engert co-founded the transport company.
She is now looking forward to helping young women start their own businesses in the future. Startup Teens aims to empower young people to turn their ideas into reality and become self-employed.
"There are an insane amount of smart minds out there. The majority don't so much lack the opportunities as they lack the substantive connection to the startup environment," Engert says. "Here we leave too much talent too early, because we do not create a practical approach to innovation topics in school. Then in training or university it's too late, so that young people, lacking inspiration, are trained for professions that may not exist like that in ten years."
