BMH participates in pre-seed round of healthtech startup Dentero

BMH is making a six-figure investment in the young company Dentero. The AI-supported software is designed to make processes in dental practices more efficient and error-free.

Wiesbaden / Frankfurt am Main, May 27, 2025 - BMH Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen mbH is investing in Dentero Healthtech GmbH as part of a pre-seed financing round with its Hessen Kapital I fund. The Frankfurt-based start-up has developed an AI-supported software solution that is designed to relieve dental practices of the burden of medical documentation and billing. BMH is supporting the young company with a high six-figure sum. Several experienced business angels are also involved.

AI-based billing for dentists

Dentero was founded in February 2025 by Patrick Steingraf and Volker Tietz. The aim is to simplify bureaucratic processes in dental practices with the help of artificial intelligence. The application makes it possible to carry out documentation by voice input. Relevant content is automatically extracted, logged in an audit-proof manner and linked to suitable billing items from GOZ, BEMA and GOÄ. Multipliers and justification are also included.

Solution addresses complex regulated market

With its technology-based approach, Dentero addresses a highly fragmented and regulated market. The software is designed to be integrated into existing practice processes and enable both efficiency gains and a measurable increase in billable services. The start-up aims to offer not only time savings, but also billing security.

First customer wins and pilot customers in place

Despite the early stage of development, Dentero has already achieved a considerable market response: The company claims to have a high double-digit number of practices among its customers. This includes a large dental facility with several locations. In the coming months, the team plans to further expand its technological base and systematically extend its market presence.

Christoph Wolf, Principal at BMH, explains the investment: "The team brings many years of experience from the dental industry and combines this with modern AI technology. The solution is practical, scalable and obviously meets a real market need - the customer figures to date show this very clearly."

Even if Startbase sends Dentero its warmest congratulations on the pre-seed, the topic of AI dentists will turn some readers' nightmares into reality. Perhaps it calms the nerves a little when you know that it is a tool in terms of bureaucracy and that is always a positive thing from a business perspective.
