BPI raises USD 17 million in Series B round for Revibe
The refurbished electronics market in the MENA region is growing rapidly. With the successfully completed Series B financing round of 17 million US dollars, the startup Revibe, founded in 2022, is further expanding its market position. The round was led by Partech, E& and EQNX. New on board is Burda Principal Investments (BPI), which brings its global marketplace expertise to the company. Existing investors such as ISAI and Financière Saint James also continue to support the growth.
Leading marketplace for refurbished electronics
Revibe has quickly established itself as one of the leading marketplaces for refurbished electronics in the MENA region. The platform gives consumers access to certified, quality-tested devices such as smartphones, laptops, tablets, smartwatches and gaming products.
With its asset-light marketplace model, Revibe deliberately opts for a structure that does not require its own production capacities. Instead, the company combines regional refurbishers with a steadily increasing demand for affordable and sustainable electronic products. This market mechanism is well suited to countries characterized by short replacement cycles, high smartphone penetration and increasing digital usage.
Strategic location advantage through Dubai
The foundation in Dubai gives Revibe a significant strategic advantage. The metropolis acts as a logistical center for electronics trade and is home to an active network of over 300 professional refurbishers. From here, the company can efficiently manage both procurement and distribution.
The market entry in Saudi Arabia and South Africa within a short period of time is proof that Revibe's model is scalable. The company shows that regional expansion can also be successfully realized in fragmented markets with high logistical requirements.
Burda Principal Investments focuses on marketplace expertise and the circular economy
With its investment in Revibe, Burda Principal Investments is further expanding its portfolio in the area of digital marketplaces.
With Revibe, we are supporting a clear category leader with a scalable and capital-efficient growth model.
Francesco Moro, Principal at BPI
In his view, the company is well positioned to tap into additional regions and further professionalize its offering. Revibe itself also sees BPI's entry as an important step. Co-CEO Hamza Iraqui emphasizes:"We have built Revibe to be scalable right from the start. The Dubai location enables us to continuously increase the value for refurbishers and end customers."
Circular economy is gaining importance in emerging markets
The market for remanufactured electronics is growing worldwide, but particularly in emerging markets, where price awareness and sustainability are both becoming increasingly important Revibe is benefiting from this trend and wants to use the new financing to deepen its regional presence in the Middle East and Africa as well as prepare its first steps towards Southeast Asia.
By working closely with its network of refurbishers, the start-up has the opportunity to set standards for quality, reliability and transparency. A key factor in markets where trust in used electronics still needs to be established.
With the Series B financing, Revibe is expanding its operational capacities and plans to further develop its technology, infrastructure and market presence. For investors such as BPI and the other capital providers, Revibe remains an exciting growth company in a segment that is rapidly gaining momentum.
