Alstin Capital expands portfolio with international investments and loyal investors - 175 million euros for the future of B2B software

Munich, November 2024 - Alstin Capital, Carsten Maschmeyer's venture capital fund, has closed its third fund, Alstin III, with a volume of 175 million euros. The original target of 100 million euros was reached after just four months. Due to the high demand, the team increased the hard cap to 175 million euros. The fund focuses on investments in European B2B software companies in the Series A phase and provides for entry sums of between 1 and 5 million euros.

Investors in the fund include foundations, banks, insurance companies, family offices and wealthy private individuals. According to Alstin Capital, over 90 percent of the investors come from the predecessor fund Alstin II.

First investments and international focus

Alstin III has already invested in three companies even before the fundraising was finalized:

  • Flowit (Zurich, Switzerland): a platform for employee retention and motivation, specifically for nursing and service staff as well as production employees.
  • NORBr (Amsterdam, Netherlands): Software solutions for the efficient setup of payment infrastructure.
  • Etalytics (Darmstadt, Germany): AI-supported energy management solutions for data centers with average energy consumption savings of 37 percent.

These investments underline Alstin III's focus on internationalization. The aim is to support European companies in establishing global business models, says Managing Partner Carsten Maschmeyer.

Alstin Capital

Alstin Capital was founded with the aim of promoting high-growth technology companies in the DACH region and Europe. The focus is on investments in the seed and Series A phase. While Alstin I worked exclusively with Carsten Maschmeyer's family assets, Alstin II was opened to external investors in 2017 and raised 108 million euros at the time. This fund has been fully invested since fall 2023.

The best-known companies in Alstin Capital's portfolio include Blacklane, Orderbird (exit), pflege.de (exit), Klarna and Deskbird. With Alstin III, the portfolio is now set to become broader and more international.
