Celonis acquires Process Analytics Factory
Felix Leitmeyer | 29.03.2022The company thus bought a competitor for around 91 million euros.
The Munich-based Decacorn start-up Celonis is the market leader in execution management systems (EMS). Among other things, these show retailers market data, look for errors and inefficient processes. Now the company has acquired the Darmstadt-based competitor Process Analytics Factory GmbH (PAF). The Munich-based company put around 91 million euros ($100 million) on the table for the deal.
The acquisition is intended to make it easier for Microsoft users to access Celonis' EMS. PAF, in fact, specializes in process mining for Microsoft Power BI. This should make using Celonis' EMS run more smoothly on Microsoft computers. This could be a big hit for Celonis. After all, 97 percent of the so-called "Fortune 500 companies" and more than 260,000 organizations worldwide are said to use Microsoft Power BI.
"The acquisition of PAF enables the millions of Microsoft Power Platform users to leverage Celonis' data and insights for analytics, automation and collaboration," says co-CEO and co-founder of Celonis Alexander Rinke. Tobias Rother, CEO and founder of PAF, adds, "This move combines the strength of market leader Celonis with PAF's process mining capabilities for Microsoft Power Platform. This makes Celonis EMS more accessible to a large and rapidly growing number of enterprises and users."
