Christoph Röttele surprisingly resigns as CEO of Check24

According to media reports, Röttele has no longer been head of the comparison portal since last week. Founder Henrich Blase is now Managing Director.

Christopf Röttele has surprisingly left the management of Check24. This was reported by Finance Forward and Finanz-Szene. The manager left the company on April 21. Röttele led the comparison portal in Munich for six years.

"We would like to thank Christoph Röttele for the many years of trusting cooperation and his outstanding achievements, such as the successful development of our C24 Bank," Check24 founder Henrich Blase told Finance Forward. Röttele is leaving the company "at his own request in order to have more time for his family." Blase will take over the management for the time being.

A return is apparently not ruled out, as Finance Forward reports. The two founders Henrich Blase and Eckard Juls have been aware of Röttele's impending departure for several months. A return was neither firmly agreed nor ruled out. However, Röttele will certainly no longer be CEO, according to Finance Forward. The management team now consists of the two founders, as well as Georg Heusgen and Kostas Pyliouras.

Röttele became Spokesman of the Management Board and CEO in June 2015. He was previously a partner at CVC Capital Partners, one of the largest private equity firms in the world, for three years.
