Core Sensing wins start-up prize

As part of the Hannover Messe, a particularly innovative product from a start-up is awarded a prize. This year, the prize goes to the Darmstadt-based company Core Sensing.
For the second time, Hannover Messe has presented the Hermes Start-up Award. The 2021 winner is the Corein project from Darmstadt-based start-up Core Sensing. The Corein is a sensor package that can be installed on any metallic component and collects data as a rotation and force torque sensor. Thus, constant monitoring can lead to the avoidance of failures or minimize the maintenance effort.
"I am particularly pleased to award core sensing, a spin-off company whose solutions help companies to exploit the diverse potential of digitalization more comprehensively," says Reimund Neugebauer, President of the Fraunhofer Gesellschaft and Chairman of the jury.
Founded in 2019, the start-up developed the Corein 2019 sensor package. In 2020, it successfully completed its first funding and launched further products. The award currently goes annually to a technologically innovative product from a company that must be no more than five years old.
