Deep Care lands seven-figure sum

With the help of an intelligent assistance device, the start-up wants to improve people's sitting behavior. The idea has now received funding from the Sparkasse network, among others.

The Ludwigsburg-based start-up Deep Care has received a seven-figure sum. The company did not disclose the exact amount. It uses a special device: a so-called "intelligent sitting behavior assistant" (ISA). This is intended to analyze the sitting behavior of people who work at a desk. With the funding, the startup hopes to continue to grow and expand its customer base. Deep Care was founded in 2020 by Milad Geravand, Timo Forstner and Simon Fiechtner.

Two investors from the Sparkasse, called S-Kap and ES-Kapital, Thomas Balgheim and Christian Terborg added money. Two other investors also participated, whose identities remained secret.

The importance of the topic of sitting behavior is shown by the DAK health report from 2021: According to this report, an adult in Germany sits for about 8 hours a day. This can lead to widespread diseases such as high blood pressure and back pain. Companies also have an interest in reducing the incidence of these diseases: According to DAK, they were the most common individual diagnoses for sick leave in 2018.
