Deep Care lands seven-figure sum

The start-up wants to improve people's sitting behavior with the help of an intelligent assistance device. The idea has now received funding from the savings bank network, among others.
The Ludwigsburg-based start-up Deep Care has received a seven-figure sum. The company has not disclosed the exact amount. It uses a special device: a so-called "Intelligent Sitting Assistant" (ISA). This is designed to analyze the sitting behavior of people who work at a desk. The start-up would like to use the funding to grow further and expand its customer base. Deep Care was founded in 2020 by Milad Geravand, Timo Forstner and Simon Fiechtner.
Two investors from Sparkasse, known as S-Kap and ES-Kapital, Thomas Balgheim and Christian Terborg, provided additional funding. Two other investors, whose identities remain secret, also participated.
The DAK health report from 2021 shows just how important the issue of sitting behavior is: according to the report, an adult in Germany sits for around 8 hours a day. This can lead to common diseases such as high blood pressure and back pain. Companies also have an interest in reducing the incidence of these illnesses: According to DAK, they were the most common individual diagnoses for sick leave in 2018.
