Wefox was able to win over this manager

The new COO was previously a member of the Generali Management Board and head of Cosmos Direct. He is to drive the global growth of the insurtech.

As of 01 July, David Stachon will be the new Managing Director at Wefox. The position of COO will be newly created for him. This is reported by several media in agreement. Most recently, Stachon was head of Cosmos Direkt, a direct insurance company belonging to the Generali Group. At Generali, he also served as chief business officer digital as a board member.

In December, it was announced that the 50-year-old was leaving the company at his own request. Stachon told Gründerszene about his new employer Wefox: "I've found a very personal commitment among the people here - it feels different than management, where there's a distance from the job. "Just under a month ago, Wefox announced a funding round of more than $650 million. The insurtech is now being billed as a triple unicorn.

Stachon is the first major hire since the funding round and is expected to continue driving global growth. Wefox has been operating in Poland since Monday. Italy is next on the schedule, and Asia is also being targeted. "I am confident that David can support us with his experience and knowledge of insurance and digital technologies to achieve these goals," CEO Julian Teicke tells Handelsblatt.
