From July 1, David Stachon will be the new Managing Director at Wefox. The position of COO will be created for him. This has been reported by several media outlets. Most recently, Stachon was head of Cosmos Direkt, a direct insurance company belonging to the Generali Group. At Generali, he was also Chief Business Officer Digital on the Management Board.

In December, it was announced that the 50-year-old wanted to leave the company at his own request. Stachon told Gründerszene about his new employer Wefox: "I have found a very personal commitment from the people here - that feels different to management, where there is a distance to the job. "Just under a month ago, Wefox announced a financing round of more than 650 million US dollars. The insurtech is now considered a triple unicorn.

Stachon is the first major appointment since the financing round and is expected to further drive global growth. Wefox has been active in Poland since Monday. Italy is next on the agenda and Asia is also being targeted. "I am confident that David can help us achieve these goals with his experience and knowledge of insurance and digital technologies," CEO Julian Teicke told Handelsblatt.
