DIGITALHUB.DE expands portfolio with AI startup Inzipio

DIGITALHUB.DE is further expanding its commitment to digital health solutions: With the inclusion of Inzipio, the hub is specifically strengthening its promotion of digital health innovations and AI-supported medical applications. The startup, alumni of the HUBGRADE funding program, is developing software for AI-supported surgical planning that supports doctors in complex reconstructive operations.

AI-based software for more precise surgical planning

Inzipio's technology analyzes medical image data using artificial intelligence and automatically converts it into structured, patient-specific surgical plans. The aim is to reduce manual planning steps, optimize clinical processes and improve the quality of surgical procedures.

Through automation and standardization, operations can be prepared faster, safer and more cost-effectively - a benefit for surgeons, the healthcare system and patients.

The founders behind Inzipio

The idea was born at RWTH Aachen University Hospital:

• Dr. Stefan Raith and Prof. Ali Modabber initially developed an academic prototype for the automated planning of surgical procedures in oral and maxillofacial surgery, with a focus on facial reconstructions.
• Thomas Roth joined as a business partner, Tobias Pankert joined the team as an AI developer.

The aim: to offer surgeons a smart tool for patient-specific graft planning that reduces dependency on external services.

Looking to the future

Following the successful completion of the financing round and the submission of the medical device registration (MDR), Inzipio plans to

• Obtain MDR approval
• Market entry in 2026
• Sales preparation and expansion of the software for other medical application areas

Inzipio aims to make a sustainable contribution to digitalization and increased efficiency in everyday clinical practice.
