Ecolytiq raises 13.5 million euros

Ecolytiq's software informs bank customers about their CO2 consumption and advises them on sustainable investments. The start-up has now received investor funding for its product.
Ecolytiq has received 13.5 million euros in a financing round. The capital came from Visa, VCM Global Asset Management and Btov. In addition, consulting firm PwC Germany has invested in the fintech through a fund from Segenia Capital.
David Lais and Ulrich Pietsch founded Ecolytiq in 2020, a startup that has developed a technology that analyzes the CO2 consumption of bank customers based on their payment data and advises them on offsetting and sustainable investments. Since 2021, Ecolytiq has been working with Visa on this. Rabobank, Tatra Bank, Tomorrow Bank and Novus are already using the startup's software.
"We founded ecolytiq with the goal of not only educating consumers around the world about their individual impact on the environment, but also to empower them to act at the same time," says Ecolytiq co-founder David Lais. "We are thrilled to have found investors who not only support and believe in our vision, but also personally share the same values and belief in a better future." The startup plans to use the capital from the funding round to further develop its solution and expand its offering in existing markets in Germany, Canada and the United States.
