Ecovadis swallows Ecotrek

The two companies' solutions are designed to help customers monitor risks and improve the sustainability of supply chains.
The Berlin-based start-up Ecotrek, which is dedicated to monitoring the sustainability of suppliers, is being acquired by Ecovadis. This means that the leading provider of global sustainability ratings is taking over the young company.
A combination of Ecovadis and Ecotrek solutions will help customers to monitor risks and improve sustainability performance in their supply chains. According to the company, this could also be crucial in connection with the German Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) and the EU Commission's planned Due Diligence Directive.
The Co-CEO of Ecotrek, Rena Kleine, expects great things from the takeover: "By joining forces with Ecovadis, our customers will achieve enormous benefits in terms of product growth and scalability and will be able to integrate sustainability into their procurement processes even faster, more globally and with maximum impact." Her company is known for its sustainability data mining technology. This should enable the automated collection, verification and analysis of sustainability data and documents.
Ecovadis hopes to expand its global scalability in risk management. Through the acquisition, the company aims to improve the scope, speed and quality of sustainability data from global supply chains. "The acquisition of Ecotrek strengthens our position as the best possible partner for companies that want to achieve a sustainable impact in their value chains," says Frederic Trinel, Co-CEO of Ecovadis.
