Elona Health secures six-figure investment

The company has set itself the task of digitalizing psychotherapy. According to a media report, it has now convinced some investors in a financing round.

Düsseldorf-based start-up Elona Health has received a high six-figure sum in a pre-seed round. Investors included the founder of intranet software company Coyo, Jan Marius Marquardt and NRW.Bank, as the online edition of the newspaper Rheinische Post reported. The young company wants to use an app to ensure that psychotherapy becomes more digital.

The company's next big goal is to get approval as a Digital Health Application. Once that happens, use of the app could be billed through health insurance. The company is working towards this being possible next year.

Elona Health's app is meant to be used alongside therapy. Psychotherapists can adapt it to the patients. For example, it will record what mood patients are in on different days. In addition, users can note down questions that are then discussed in therapy or repeat exercises from the therapy session. The company is working on a study together with the Heinrich Heine University in Düsseldorf and the Robert Enke Foundation.

Elona Health was founded in the spring of 2021. The brains behind the start-up are Magnus Schückes, Johanna von Lobenstein, Alexander Braden and Leon Hillebrandt as well as Peter Neudeck.
