Enzo expands seed round by 4 million euros

The Heidelberg-based start-up Enzo has expanded its seed financing by a further 4 million euros, raising a total of 6.2 million euros. The new financing round was led by EquityPitcher Ventures and Start-up BW Innovation Fonds & MBG BW. Silence VC and the impact angel network better ventures also participated, including via well-known business angels such as Gloria Seibert, Martina Steiner-Samwer, Peter Krachten and Robert Levenhagen.

The fresh capital will flow into the further development of the AI platform, the expansion of strategic insurance partnerships and preparations for international expansion.

Billions in damage due to tap water

Water damage is one of the most expensive claims in homeowners' insurance. In Germany alone, costs of around 5 billion euros are incurred every year. In addition to the financial consequences, the repairs also have a high carbon footprint. This is mainly caused by energy-intensive drying, material replacement and construction waste.

Our solution offers double added value: economically through lower insurance claims and ecologically by avoiding unnecessary repairs and CO₂ emissions.

The AI-supported IoT solution developed by Enzo monitors buildings in real time and detects water damage before it becomes visible. The system consists of patented sensors that can be installed in just a few minutes without the need for tradespeople. According to Enzo, detection is up to 40 times more precise than with conventional water meters.

According to the start-up, this means up to 70 percent lower claims costs for insurance companies and significant savings in resources for building owners and the environment.

Insurers rely on Enzo's technology

Enzo is already working with a number of insurance companies, including Barmenia-Gothaer, Alte Leipziger, INTER, Hiscox and SV SparkassenVersicherung. The technology is already in use in several European countries.

With the new financing, the company plans to further automate its systems, integrate new partners and prepare for international market expansion.
