Berlin, October 2, 2024 - The Berlin-based fintech startup bcause has successfully raised 4.2 million euros in a Series A financing round. The round was led by the Mast family of entrepreneurs (Jägermeister). Institutional investors such as BonVenture and IBB Ventures are also on board for the first time. Existing investors such as Andreas Haug from Headline and Martin Weber from Holtzbrinck Ventures have increased their stakes. The capital will flow into the further development of the platform, which aims to make foundations in Germany more accessible.

Prominent investors support the fintech

In addition to institutional investors, prominent personalities are also part of the bcause network. Over 2,000 people, including Verena Pausder, Eckart von Hirschhausen and Christian Vollmann, already use the platform for charitable donations and investments. Christina Flügel from the Mast family of entrepreneurs emphasizes the importance of sustainability and social commitment and praises bcause as a quick and easy tool for setting up your own endowment funds.

Capital flows into the expansion of the digital platform

bcause intends to use the new capital to expand its platform and add new functions. These include expanded investment options, impact investments and loyalty programs. The aim is to make donations as easy as online share deposits and to democratize philanthropy. Felix Oldenburg, CEO of bcause, sees the financing round as an important step towards achieving this goal.

Wealthy people in particular give less than they want to in relation to their assets - because there is a lack of modern platforms and offerings. And that is exactly what we are changing with bcause. By digitizing, simplifying and democratizing foundations and impact investing.

Felix Oldenburg, CEO bcause

Institutional investors see great potential in bcause. Clemens Kabel from IBB Ventures praises the business model and the trust that the team has built up in the sector. Erwin Stahl from BonVenture sees the democratization of giving as an important step towards getting more people excited about philanthropy.
