feld.energy raises over 10 million euros in seed round
The Munich-based startup feld.energy has closed a seed financing round of more than 10 million euros. The round was led by HV Capital, with Future Energy Ventures, AENU and Angel Invest also participating. The aim is to drive growth in the field of agrivoltaics (agri-PV) and to establish the technology more broadly in Germany.
Agri-PV as dual use of agricultural land
feld.energy is developing a model that provides farmers with an additional source of income: In addition to growing crops, land can be used in parallel to generate electricity. As part of a 20-year leasing model, farmers can generate over 100,000 euros in additional income.

The concept combines sustainable energy production with agricultural use and is intended to contribute to the resilience of the agricultural sector and the success of the energy transition. Studies by Fraunhofer ISE show: The technical potential of Agri-PV in Germany is around 2,900 GW.
Contribution to the energy transition and food security
Agri-PV offers several advantages:
- Supporting Germany's climate targets, which envisage around 60 percent renewable energy in gross final energy consumption by 2050.
- Water savings in agriculture through shading effects.
- More stable sources of income for farmers, insuring against crop failures.
Agri-PV addresses the land conflict between food and energy production in an innovative way.

Next steps
feld.energy intends to use the new capital to expand its operational capacity, strengthen the team and scale the solution to other farms. In the long term, the dual use of land should become the norm. We reported on a successful round for feld.engergy back in November 2024 and on an investment from the founders of Flix-Bus in January 2025. With the successful seed round, the startup appears to be on the upswing.
