MARCLEY aims to facilitate access to low-cost solar power for residents of apartment buildings and drive forward the energy transition with a new financing round

Hanover, July 30, 2024 - The greentech startup MARCLEY from Hanover has successfully closed a new financing round of almost 5 million euros. This round was led by Virida Capital, a new energy hardware VC of the Green Giraffe Group. Further investments came from Venture Stars from Munich and well-known business angels such as Emma Tracey and Florian Bennhold. Previous investors, including the Hanover-based investment fund managed by Enjoy Ventures and Climate Founders, also participated again. MBG and banks also contributed financial resources.

Innovative solar solutions for apartment buildings

MARCLEY offers owners of apartment buildings an innovative solar solution that gives residents access to affordable green electricity.

This enables us to supply residents of apartment buildings with solar power from their own roofs more quickly and reduce their annual electricity costs by several hundred euros.

Friedrich Grimm, co-founder of MARCLEY

At Virida Capital, we focus on new hardware-based technologies and business models that accelerate the energy transition. We are therefore delighted to include MARCLEY in the seed portfolio of our newly launched fund.

Niels Jongste from Virida Capital

MARCLEY's goal is to enable access to green energy without investment costs or effort for the owners and also to provide residents with low-cost, environmentally friendly electricity. The start-up was founded by energy experts Florian Schnipkoweit, Florian Schulte and Friedrich Grimm.

2023 with a successful pre-seed round

The startup successfully completed a six-figure pre-seed round in 2023. This was led by Enjoy Venture and Climate Founders. Industry experts such as Robin Kroll (Imogent), Michael Suer (Renewa) and Carsten Gropp (Four Management) were also involved. We reported on the Startbase at the time.
