Soccer world champion invests in Coachbetter

The start-up is now planning to expand in the DACH region and the USA. The coaching platform's partners also include professional soccer clubs.
The sports start-up Coachbetter has been able to attract a prominent investor. Professional footballer Steven Nzonzi, who became world champion with the French national team in 2018, is investing in the company. The amount of the investment was not initially disclosed.
Coachbetter was founded in 2018 by Patrick Patzig, Thomas Grimm, Simon Arpagaus and Stefan Steuble. The start-up offers a platform for professional and amateur soccer coaches. The offering includes both entire training sessions and individual exercises. Borussia Dortmund, among others, uses Coachbetter to train coaches and players. "Coachbetter meets the needs of all coaches and players and supports their development," says Nzonzi, explaining how he got started: "I wish it had been around when I was a kid and started playing soccer."
Coachbetter had already raised one million euros in a pre-seed round last year. At the time, Markus Egger, former Managing Director of Red Bull Salzburg, was one of the investors. The start-up is now looking to expand primarily in the DACH region and will soon also be expanding into the USA.
