Darmstadt-based deep-tech startup Genow has closed a seed financing round of EUR 1.65 million. The lead investor is High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF), flanked by BM H Beteiligungs-Managementgesellschaft Hessen mbH (BMH) and the business angels Markus Becker, Sebastian Mönnich and Dr. Mario Lenz.

Wingman AI platform

With Wingman, Genow is developing an AI platform that intelligently brings together fragmented company knowledge from systems such as SharePoint, Confluence or Jira. The aim is to make information accessible quickly and contextually. Regardless of the system in which it is stored. The platform understands content semantically, takes company-specific terms into account and provides precise answers, even for complex queries.

Wingman is already in use at major international customers, where it is used by thousands of employees. Companies can configure the platform for various application areas such as HR, sales, compliance or customer service.

The unsolved problem of knowledge management

Despite digitalization, efficient access to internal knowledge remains a major challenge. Information is often spread across different systems and difficult to find. In addition, valuable knowledge is lost when experienced specialists leave the company.

Many employees spend 20 to 30 percent of their time every day searching for information alone.

Sara Jourdan, CEO Genow

The founding team at TU Darmstadt has spent years researching generative AI in business applications. One key finding: standard AI solutions often fail due to a lack of context. Wingman addresses this gap by intelligently linking data sources and adapting them to specific industries. The platform can be operated entirely in the customer's cloud environment and meets high security and scalability requirements.

With Genow, we are investing in a team that has developed a scalable solution from excellent research.

Sebastian Schnell, BMH

HTGF investment manager Felix Assion adds:"Few understand the needs of large corporates as well as this team." Business angels Markus Becker and Sebastian Mönnich emphasize the combination of technological know-how and strategic vision.

Next steps

The capital from the financing round will be used to expand the technology - particularly in the area of agent-based knowledge processes - and to develop the international market.

Genow was founded in 2023 as a spin-off from TU Darmstadt. The company's aim is to make knowledge processes more efficient, secure knowledge and promote knowledge creation in organizations. Genow's central product is its AI platform Wingman.
