It is the first financing round for the start-up HiveMQ, which was founded in 2012: the Landshut-based company has raised 9.3 million euros. The round was led by venture capitalists Earlybird and Senovo Capital. Business angels Ali Kutay, Mirko Novakovic, Daniel Schellhoss and Charles Songhurst are also involved.
Hivemq plans to use the money to expand its existing cloud offering, launch new products and increase marketing. The team will also be expanded.
The Landshut-based start-up helps companies to connect their IoT devices to a cloud and thus transfer large amounts of data securely. HiveMQ focuses primarily on the automotive sector, with customers currently including BMW and Daimler, as well as Deutsche Telekom and Siemens.
