Hotel association announces industry award for start-ups
Janina Gerhardt | 21.02.2022The award is aimed at young companies that develop practical and digital products for the hotel industry. Companies can apply as of today.
The German Hotel Association (IHA) is inviting entries for its industry award for start-ups. Interested young companies that operate in Germany or offer their products in German can apply from now until May 31. Only start-ups whose B2B or B2C product has been on the market for less than five years are eligible to participate.
"The digitization and optimization of processes in hotels is currently playing an even more important role than ever before. It is an important building block for rebooting and for sustainable growth in the hotel industry," says IHA Chairman Otto Lindner. Only through the use of innovative technologies could hotels become more efficient and remain competitive. For this reason, he said, the German Hotel Association wants to encourage young companies to enter the industry.
From the applications, the association will select a maximum of five start-ups and invite them to the IHA Hotel Congress in June 2022. There, the young companies will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas and discuss them with congress participants. Attendees can then vote on which startup will win. The winner will then be supported by the hotel congress for twelve months and included in the association's communications.
