Hotel association announces industry award for start-ups

The award is aimed at young companies that develop practical and digital products for the hotel industry. Companies can apply from today.

The German Hotel Association (IHA) is announcing its industry award for start-ups. Interested young companies operating in Germany or offering their products in German can apply from now until May 31. Only start-ups whose B2B or B2C product has been on the market for less than five years are eligible to take part.

"The digitalization and optimization of processes in hotels is currently playing an even more important role than ever before. It is an important building block for the recovery and sustainable growth of the hotel industry," says IHA Chairman Otto Lindner. Only through the use of innovative technologies can hotels become more efficient and remain competitive. The German Hotel Association therefore wants to encourage young companies to enter the industry.

The association will select a maximum of five start-ups from the applications and invite them to the IHA Hotel Congress in June 2022. There, the young companies will have the opportunity to pitch their ideas and discuss them with congress participants. The participants can then vote on which start-up will win. The winner will then be supported by the Hotel Congress for twelve months and included in the association's communications.
