HTGF appoints Gregor Haidl and Dr. Nik Raupp as partners
High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) has added Gregor Haidl and Dr. Nik Raupp to its circle of partners as of January 1, 2026. With this decision, one of Europe's leading early-stage investors is strengthening its expertise in two strategically important future fields: Industrial & Deep Tech and Life Sciences & Chemicals.
The appointments recognize the central role that both investors have played in recent years in the expansion of deal flow, the development of portfolio companies and the strategic positioning of the fund. HTGF is thus underlining its claim to not only provide founding teams with capital, but also to actively support them with technical expertise, entrepreneurial experience and industrial networks.
Gregor Haidl: Focus on industrial software, AI and deep tech
Gregor Haidl has been part of HTGF since 2017 and is responsible for investments in the areas of industrial, climate and deep tech. His focus is on complex B2B software and AI solutions, including for research and development, automation and the energy sector.
The mechanical engineering graduate (TU Munich) and graduate of the UnternehmerTUM program "Manage & More" also brings international industry experience, including from his time at BMW Brilliance Automotive in China. In 2023, Haidl co-founded the HTGF location in Munich, which he has since closely networked with the regional innovation ecosystem. Since 2025, he has headed the location as Head of HTGF Munich.
His portfolio includes Neural Concept (AI-supported engineering), SimScale (cloud-native simulation) and viboo (intelligent building automation). As a partner, Haidl aims to support start-up teams, particularly in the early phase of the transition from technological excellence to scalable, marketable products.
Dr. Nik Raupp: Expansion of chemical and biotech expertise
Dr. Nik Raupp is responsible for HTGF's activities in the fields of chemicals and industrial biotech. His investment focus is on sustainable innovations, new materials and solutions for the circular economy and industrial transformation.
After working in management consulting, Raupp completed his doctorate on the VC financing of biotech companies in Japan. Before joining HTGF in 2021, he worked for BASF in Hong Kong, among others. In addition to his role as an investor, he is a key contact for fund investors from the chemical industry and is closely involved in HTGF's fundraising activities.
His investments include start-ups such as EEDEN (chemical textile recycling), COLIPI (biotechnological oil alternatives) and Nebula Biocides (innovative disinfection technologies). Raupp has played a key role in positioning HTGF as a relevant early-stage investor for chemical and biotech start-ups.
Partnerships with strategic aspirations
With the addition of Haidl and Raupp to its circle of partners, HTGF is consistently pursuing its goal of providing long-term support to technology-driven start-up teams. The focus is on building internationally competitive companies and developing future market leaders that will shape Europe's industrial and technological future.
