Innovative Sensor Technology takes over Infrasolid

The Swiss sensor manufacturer swallows the Dresden-based start-up. The management team of the university spin-off is to remain on board.
The Innovative Sensor Technology Group (IST) has acquired Infrasolid and will include the start-up's lasers in its product portfolio. The two companies want to benefit from each other in the future in the development, production and sale of lasers and sensors. The Infrasolid management team will continue to work with the same members.
Infrasolid was founded in May 2017 as a spin-off of the Institute for Solid State Electronics at TU Dresden and currently employs 14 people. The start-up develops and produces infrared and near-infrared lasers. These are smaller and more powerful than conventional lasers and can measure the composition of gases, liquids and solids. They are therefore used, for example, in emissions monitoring, the chemical industry, food analysis and medical technology.
"We look forward to working with Innovative Sensor Technology IST AG as a strong and reliable partner to further scale and automate our infrared emitter technology and to open up new applications and markets with our products," says Infrasolid Managing Director Marco Schossig. The Innovative Sensor Technology Group, based in Switzerland, has been in existence since 1991 and manufactures sensors. These can measure temperatures, humidity and conductivity, for example.
