Chemnitz - On February 29, 2024, the Saxon Start-up Forum II will open its doors at the Carlowitz Congress Center Chemnitz from 16:00 to 19:00. The event offers start-ups and those interested in founding a company the opportunity to find out how they can create an investment-ready financing concept in order to successfully approach capital providers and investors. The event is also part of the competition for the Saxon State Prize for Entrepreneurship 2024.

The innovation platform of the Free State of Saxony, futureSAX, invites you to the Start-up Forum shortly before the application deadline for the Saxon State Prize for Entrepreneurship on March 4, 2024. Here, founders, scaling start-ups and experts from the futureSAX network will come together to gain valuable inspiration. The central topics are the search for suitable investors, understanding the expectations of investors and adapting the financing concept to the current status of the business model.

The Saxon Start-up Forum II is part of a series of start-up forums that cover the triad of business model development, innovation and convincing presentation of one's own idea. Dr. Robin Schubert, Managing Director of BASELABS GmbH, will report on his experiences in a keynote speech and provide insights from company foundation to exit.

Financing is a key issue for start-ups

Financing plays a crucial role for start-ups, as the figures for 2023 show. At least 41 deals were concluded in Saxony, with a total volume of around 190 million euros. The largest financing round of the year was in October with 108 million euros for Skeleton Technologies GmbH from Großröhrsdorf. The Start-up Forum raises awareness of the topic and offers support from experts with practical experience. In interactive panels, entrepreneurs and investors share their experiences on venture capital financing, crowd investing, funding and accelerators. A deep dive on venture debt is available for start-ups in the growth phase. There will also be networking opportunities with experts from the futureSAX network.

The Saxon State Minister for Economic Affairs, Labour and Transport, Martin Dulig, emphasizes Saxony's innovative strength and assures the founders of the support of the Free State. Steffen Beer, Managing Director of futureSAX GmbH, emphasizes the importance of the Founders' Forum as an ideal starting point for start-ups to gain valuable impetus, meet like-minded people and make important contacts. The event is also a decisive step on the way to applying for the Saxon Founder Award.
