Isar Aerospace secures 150 million euros

The aerospace start-up Isar Aerospace has announced financing of 150 million euros through a convertible bond. The funds come from the US investment company Eldridge Industries, which invests in technology, mobility and infrastructure, among other things. All regulatory approvals for the transaction have been obtained.
Strategic capital for Europe's independent access to space
Isar Aerospace intends to use the investment to drive forward the expansion of its launch capacities and the series production of its launch vehicles near Munich. The aim is to offer flexible, commercially viable launch services for small and medium-sized satellites worldwide, independent of government infrastructure.
According to CEO and co-founder Daniel Metzler, the capital commitment is a sign of confidence in Isar Aerospace as a future key player in the international space market.
We serve the growing global demand for satellite launches and offer markets and governments independent and flexible access to space.

New unicorn and important step for Europe's space industry
With the new financing of 150 million euros from Eldridge Industries, Isar Aerospace joins the ranks of unicorns, i.e. private technology companies with a valuation of over one billion US dollars. This milestone not only marks the confidence of international investors in the Munich-based start-up's business model, but also underlines the strategic importance of Isar Aerospace as a key player in the European aerospace sector. Since its foundation in 2018, the company has made significant progress: The specially developed Spectrum launch vehicle was designed to launch small and medium-sized satellites, the first test campaigns were successfully completed and a highly automated series production facility was established near Munich. In addition, Isar Aerospace has already signed several launch contracts with institutional and commercial customers (including ESA and the German Armed Forces), making it one of Europe's leading privately financed launch providers. The unicorn status clearly signals that privately financed space travel from Europe has become internationally competitive.
