Jan Kemper becomes CFO of N26

It could be another step towards an IPO: The online bank N26 brings Kemper, an experienced manager, into the company.
In December, N26 CEO Valentin Stalf was still affirming that an IPO was not on the cards in the next three years. Now the online bank announced that experienced manager Jan Kemper will join as CFO in the second half of 2021 and announced big plans. "N26 is thus gearing up for its next growth phase," the company writes.
Accordingly, it seems reasonable to assume that Kemper has also been brought on board to prepare for the IPO. "His experience in scaling startups to publicly traded companies, is of great importance for our future plans," co-CEO and co-founder Maximilian Tayenthal, for example, says of Kemper's arrival.
As CFO of Zalando, Kemper oversaw the company's IPO in 2014. After that, he was also CFO at ProsiebenSat.1 Media. Most recently, he works for travel startup Omio. "It's a great time to become a part of N26," Kemper commented on his career move.
N26 is currently valued at €3.75 billion. The fintech has a presence in 25 countries and says it serves over five million customers.
