Zolar gets new chief financial officer

Anurag Bansal is now CFO of the solar system start-up. He previously worked for Zalando and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, among others.
Greentech Zolar has a new CFO. As the company announced, Anurag Bansal will be the Berlin-based company's new CFO with immediate effect. Bansal most recently held the same position at vertical farming start-up &ever, where he was responsible for the merger with competitor Kalera. Prior to that, he was Head of Corporate Development at Zalando and worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.
Zolar, founded in 2016 by Alex Melzer and Gregor Loukidis, aims to make it easier for consumers to install their own solar system on their roof. The start-up offers an online configurator, at the end of which customers can either buy or rent the selected photovoltaic system.
"Right from the start, I was impressed by Zolar's strong vertical growth, global ambitions and the company's implementation strength," explained Bansal on the occasion of his appointment. CEO and co-founder Melzer was also delighted with the appointment. "With Anurag, we are welcoming a very experienced and internationally renowned finance manager to Zolar," he said. "His wealth of experience in scaling high-growth start-ups into listed companies is very valuable for our future plans."
