Anurag Bansal is the CFO of the solar equipment start-up with immediate effect. He previously worked for Zalando and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, among others.

Greentech Zolar has a new chief financial officer. The company announced that Anurag Bansal will be the Berlin-based company's new CFO, effective immediately. Bansal most recently held the same position at vertical farming startup &ever, where he was responsible for the merger with competitor Kalera. Prior to that, he was head of corporate development at Zalando and worked at Bank of America Merrill Lynch.

Zolar, founded in 2016 by Alex Melzer and Gregor Loukidis, aims to make it easier for consumers to put their own solar system on the roof. The startup offers an online configurator, at the end of which customers can either buy or rent the photovoltaic system they choose.

"From the beginning, I was excited about Zolar's strong vertical growth, global ambitions and execution strength," Bansal said on the occasion of his appointment. CEO and co-founder Melzer also expressed his delight in light of the appointment. "With Anurag, we are pleased to welcome a highly experienced and internationally distinguished finance executive to Zolar," he said. "His wealth of experience in scaling high-growth startups into publicly traded companies, is very valuable for our future plans."
