JUPUS secures 6.5 million euros in seed financing

From the call to the pleading: JUPUS digitizes legal processes end-to-end. Acton Capital is now supporting the expansion with 6.5 million euros in seed funding.

Cologne, May 20, 2025 - The Cologne-based legal tech startup JUPUS has raised 6.5 million euros in a seed financing round. The round was led by Munich-based venture capitalist Acton Capital. Existing investors such as High-Tech Gründerfonds (HTGF) and business angels, including Micha Grüber (1KOMMA5) and Kilian Kaminski (Refurbed), are also participating again. The new financing quintuples the funds raised to date to a total of 7.8 million euros.

AI as an answer to the shortage of skilled workers

JUPUS is developing an AI platform specifically for law firms that automates administrative processes and even communicates directly with clients. From the first call to the final written pleading, the software takes over tasks that previously required entire teams of lawyers. Several hundred law firms in Germany are already using JUPUS, saving an average of 40 working hours per month.

A new standard for law firm workflows

The funds from the seed round will be used for the further technical development of the platform and to expand the market share. The aim is to save over 100 hours of working time per month per law firm by 2026 thanks to AI.

According to Fritz Oidtmann, Managing Partner at Acton Capital, JUPUS is "ideally positioned to change the legal market in the long term". The automation of routine legal tasks opens up completely new opportunities for law firms, not only to increase efficiency, but also to remain competitive in the long term in a tight labor market.
