Lendorse receives 1.75 million euros in seed financing

The Berlin EdTech startup wants to make education fairer worldwide with income-based student financing.
Berlin, June 5, 2025 - Berlin-based startup Lendorse, which promotes educational equality for international students, has closed a seed financing round of 1.75 million euros. The round was led by LUMO Labs and Soulmates Ventures, with participation from PI Impact and business angel Daniel Naber.
Behind every Lendorse investment is a student with a dream and the will to realize it. We don't just cover costs - we break down barriers in education and open doors to opportunities that can change a life.
Björn Christian Wolf, Co-Founder and CEO of Lendorse
Every year, millions of international students are accepted to university and are unable to attend because they lack the financial means. Lendorse wants to change that: The company's digital platform offers upfront financing for tuition fees and living expenses, which are repaid based on income after a career start.
Model with impact and prospects
The funding will be used to expand the product and team. The aim is to meet growing demand and expand the platform's reach. Lendorse combines financial aid with career advice and integration programs to enable long-term success for international talent in Europe.
Data-driven decision models and institutional support
Lendorse relies on a proprietary, data-driven risk analysis model to evaluate applicants, taking into account academic performance, career prospects and motivation. The startup was recently awarded the Skills and Education Guarantee by the European Investment Fund (EIF).
The tireless efforts and determination of Lendorse's founders and team are exceptional. We are delighted to be a part of their continued journey.
Lotte Stoltenborgh, PI Impact
Strong partnerships and experienced team
Lendorse was founded in 2022 by Björn Christian Wolf, Evgenii Avdeev and Hannah Sharpe. Previous backers include Techstars, Earlybird Vision Lab and Vealo Ventures. The team intends to use the new capital to further advance its mission: Equal opportunities through innovative education funding.
