Logistikbude receives over 5 million euros for new software category in logistics
Dortmund-based tech company Logistikbude has closed a Series A financing of more than 5 million euros. The lead investor is Capnamic. Other investors include Moguntia Capital and the existing investors Fraunhofer Technologie-Transfer Fonds, Rethink Ventures, XPRESS Ventures and Golzern, who have expanded their commitment.
Focus on a previously little digitized cost block
Logistikbude develops software for the management of load carriers such as pallets, containers and racks.
These are considered a central component of global supply chains, but in many companies they have so far been inadequately managed digitally. High manual effort, media disruptions and a lack of transparency lead to additional costs.
New software category for supply chains
The company is positioning its solution as a load carrier management system platform. The aim is to establish the management of load carriers as an independent software category.
The platform bundles data from existing systems such as ERP, warehouse management and transport management and supplements these with additional data sources. These include mobile applications, IoT sensor technology and AI-supported document processing.
Automation through AI
A central component of Logistikbude's technology is the use of artificial intelligence.
This makes it possible to automatically read and process documents such as PDFs or Excel files and transfer them directly to booking systems. At the same time, external documents are compared with internal data.
The aim is to reduce manual processes and significantly increase efficiency in the management of load carriers.
Growth and customer base
The company was founded in 2021 by Philipp Hüning, Michael Koscharnyj, Patrik Elfert and Jan Möller.
Since the seed financing in 2023, Logistikbude has grown to around 25 employees and claims to process more than 50 million load carriers per month.
Its customers include Nagel-Group and DACHSER.
Internationalization as the next step
Logistikbude plans to use the new capital to internationalize its platform and further expand the new software category in the logistics sector. We reported on a €2.2 million round for the startup back in summer 2023.
