Logistics company secures over 2.2 million euros in seed financing

Logistikbude receives over 2.2 million euros in funding from XPRESS, rethink and better ventures and optimizes load carrier management in industry and logistics.

Dortmund - The Dortmund-based startup Logistikbude has successfully closed a seed financing of over 2.2 million euros. The main investors, XPRESS Ventures and rethink ventures, lead the round, while existing investor Fraunhofer Technologie-Transfer Fonds (FTTF) as well as business angel club better ventures, SB21 and the founders of Proglove with OMA Ventures also participate. With this funding, Logistikbude intends to further develop its technology for automating load carrier management and expand its market presence.

Founded in 2021 as a spin-off of the Fraunhofer Institute for Material Flow and Logistics (IML), Logistikbude aims to modernize outdated and mainly analog processes in the management of reusable objects such as pallets and containers. These objects play a fundamental role in global supply chains, but are often neglected when it comes to optimizing efficiency in logistics. Logistikbude relies on a specially developed algorithm that combines and automates exchange and booking processes as well as the tracking of load carriers in one platform. The company's long-term goal is to make the use of reusable objects as simple and transparent as online banking.

Logistikbude takes a step-by-step approach: first, all relevant data-related information is consolidated and presented transparently to customers. Then, algorithms identify potential efficiency gains in exchange and transport processes. In the final step, coordination with partners, customers or suppliers takes place via the platform. The company has already acquired more than 15 well-known international companies as customers.

The completed seed financing amounts to over 2.2 million euros. In addition to XPRESS Ventures and rethink ventures, FTFF and business angels such as Gwendolyn Schröter, Beate Fastrich and Thomas Gottheil participated via the business angel club better ventures. The founders of Proglove and SB21 are also part of this financing round. The funds will be used to strengthen the automation of Logistikbude's technology to grow in relevant industries and create value through data-based network effects. The focus is also on meeting sustainability goals.
