Makersite receives 18 million euros

Stuttgart-based software-as-a-service start-up Makersite has closed its Series A round.
Makersite convinced various investors in its Series A round, raising a total of 18 million euros. The backers include the venture capital arm of Hitachi, as well as Translink Capital and impact investment firm Planet A. Founded in 2018 by Neil D'Souza, the Stuttgart-based company plans to use the new capital to further develop its own AI-powered cloud platform and improve scaling.
Makersite offers a data service for manufacturing companies, enabling them to make their supply chains more efficient. D'Souza's startup says it is a leader in supply chain transformation and the automation of life cycle assessments and Scope 3 reporting. Makersite AI creates digital twins of processes and products within a supply chain and matches them with material and supply chain databases.
This concept convinced Hitachi Ventures partner Tobias Jahn: "By integrating data into product development and supply chains, Makersite offers everything needed for sustainable product design."
